October is all about fire safety! With Chimney Safety Week wrapping up and Fire Prevention Week just starting, it’s the perfect time to give your gas appliances some love.

Regarding gas appliances, it’s safest to schedule professional service annually, ideally before the heating season begins, which is right now!  Also, you should always check that they have working carbon monoxide detectors in your home.

For the entire month of October, get your annual Gas Appliance Cleaning & Startup for just $200 (regularly $235)!

This includes Gas stoves, Gas logs, Gas inserts, and Gas fireplaces.

What is included:

Clean Glass and Logs: Over time, soot and debris accumulate on the glass fireplace door, obscuring the flames and potentially causing odors. Logs can also gather dust.  We clean the glass, which usually involves removing it. Logs are wiped down or gently vacuumed with a brush attachment.

Light Pilot: Many older models have a pilot light that needs to be lit manually at the start of the season. Newer models often have electronic ignition.  Every appliance is different, but we can ensure it is done properly and safely.

Replace batteries: Your gas appliance likely relies on batteries for essential functions like the remote control, thermostat, ignition system, or battery backup if the power is off. We will replace them with fresh batteries of the correct type.

Inspect Blowers and Internal Components: Blowers circulate warm air, and any blockages or malfunctions reduce efficiency. Our technicians will check internal components for wear and tear or damage. They will inspect the blower for obstructions, clean the fan blades, and check the blower motor operation. They will also inspect the burner, ignition system, gas lines, and safety controls.

Test Run System: This ensures everything is working correctly and safely before you rely on it for heat. Our technicians will turn on the appliance and check for proper flame appearance, gas pressure, and venting. They will also test the thermostat and safety features.

If you own a home in Virginia, contact us today to book a service to ensure your gas stove or fireplace provides safe and efficient warmth throughout the colder months. Here is to a warm and safe fireplace season!
