How an Outdoor Boiler Furnace Works

It’s that time of year again. Temperatures are cooling, leaves are turning, and old man winter is nearly here. With the holiday season right around the corner are you prepared to provide your loved ones with a warm and comfortable environment? There are many ways to heat a home these days but one of the best ways to heat your home effectively and efficiently is with a wood burning furnace from Central Boiler.

This article will explain what a Central Boiler Furnance is, how it works, and why it might be a great fit for your home.

What is an Outdoor Boiler

A Central Boiler outdoor furnace is designed to work with any existing heating system you might have in place. A fuel source such as wood, pellets, or coal, is burned to heat water which is then circulated throughout the house to warm it.  This means the system can hook into any existing heating system such as heated floors, water to air, radiators etc.

Location Location Location

The Central Boiler outdoor furnace is located outside, typically 30 to 200 feet (but as far as 500 feet) away from your home or building, and works with any existing heating system. Having the heating unit outside eliminates having to deal with soot, smoke, or ash. Being able to use renewable sources of energy such as wood, pellets, or biomass reduces or eliminates your dependence on expensive fossil fuels for heat.

How it Works

A water jacket surrounds the furnace firebox and heat exchanger, and heated water is circulated to your home or building through insulated underground pipes — an efficient way to move heat over distances.

Central Boiler uses the ThermoPEX Insulated Piping System. This helps minimize loss of heat so you can heat your home more efficiently.  The pipe system works underground but in temporary situations the pipes can run above ground with the help of a UV protected outer casing.

Savings

By adding an outdoor furnace to your home you can reduce or even eliminate heating bills. In fact you can heat multiple buildings with one furnace!

The outdoor furnace can provide heat for all your domestic hot water by adding a water-to-water heat exchanger. You can turn off your hot water heater and save even more money!

Fuel

Both the Classic Edge and Classic Outdoor Wood furnace lines use wood, a readily available fuel source that can be found on your property or delivered. If you are looking to use an alternative fuel, The Maxim Outdoor Wood Pellet furnace can use wood pellets, corn, or biomass. Also, the Central Boiler Forge outdoor furnace is a cleaner way to heat using coal.

Are you tired of paying exorbitant heating bills? Sick of not having enough hot water for the whole family to get ready? Do you want to heat multiple buildings on your property with one cost-effective solution? For all these needs, we recommend Central Boiler furnaces, one of the best outdoor wood furnace boilers today, available at Edwards Hearth and Home.
